Val Fecko

I am 28 years old and currently reside in Lakewood, Ohio with my husband.

I have been involved in some kind of athletics ever since I was old enough to move around on my own; starting with track then taking up rowing at Beaumont School and on to college at Mercyhurst College in Erie, PA.

I actually participated in my first triathlon in 1999 in Cleveland, and did them periodically “just for fun” in the following years, just to keep in shape. In the last two years, I have competed on a more consistent basis, winning in my age group at several sprint distance triathlons over the 2009 season, including the Greater Cleveland Triathlon. I also completed my first half-Ironman distance race at Deer Lake this past September, and look forward to the challenge of my first full distance race at Cedar Point in September.
