The Lorain Triathlon this morning proved to be quite an interesting and action packed day. The major event of the day was Val’s crash on mile 8 (a bump in the road that almost took other members of the team down). Val was separated from her bike, thrown to the ground where she cracked her helmet, glasses were broken in half, and her body scraped, bruised and bloodied.
For “most” people the day is over. Not Val.
She hopped back on her bike raced 15 more miles with a police officer as an escort for observation. THEN ran a 10k under 50 min and secured a 2 place overall female! This is why Val has the reputation of being one of the toughest on the team.
Jeremy and Kyle had a great day getting a 2nd place and 3rd place respectively.
The biggest improvement was Darren Sidaway taking over 7 minutes off his last years time. Darren is getting FAST!
Dennis Quinones was on fire today, but some poor directing on the course got him DQ’d. This was his 1st tri and it was a GREAT one! GREAT JOB DENNIS!
Full results coming soon!
- Val with her trophy
- Jeremy with his 2nd place AG medal
